Job Summary

As a Mid Application Support Engineer - Ruby on Rails (20816), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide Level 2⁄3 application support by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues across production systems
• Write and execute SQL queries and Ruby scripts to investigate data issues, perform corrections, and support business operations
• Maintain and enhance existing Ruby on Rails applications, including bug fixes, minor feature improvements, and performance optimizations
• Monitor system performance and logs, document solutions, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3–5 years of experience in application support, software support, or software engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails with experience debugging and maintaining production applications
• Advanced SQL skills with experience in data analysis, query optimization, and data corrections (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and ability to navigate complex codebases
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows
• Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, or similar
• Familiarity with REST APIs and troubleshooting integrations using tools like Postman
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS) and basic knowledge of containers such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
